The New York Knicks and free agent center Joakim Noah have agreed to a 4-year deal worth $72 million. Noah joins his longtime Bulls teammate Derrick Rose as they start their new careers in New York.
This is a big move for the Knicks who have really struggled for a long time to find themselves a reliable big man. Noah will bring energy, toughness, attitude, defense, rebounding and surprisingly great passing ability for a big man to the team.
With Rose, Carmelo Anthony and Kristaps Porzingis handling the majority of the scoring, Noah can just do what he does best - be a rim protector and rebound.
Noah has been struggling with injuries the past couple of seasons and last year was limited to just 29 games. In 22 minutes a game he averaged a career low 4.3 points, 8.8 rebounds (his lowest since the 2008-2009 season), 3.8 assists and 1 block per game.. Clearly if Noah is healthy, he will see his minutes per game sky rocket and should see much better production on the court.
