The Oakland Athletics have traded Rich Hill and Josh Reddick to the Los Angeles Dodgers. They will receive a package of pitching prospects, featuring Frankie Montas, Grant Holmes and Jharel Cotton in return.
Hill is 36 years old, but the Dodgers starting rotation has been crushed by injuries. Clayton Kershaw, Hyun-jin Ryu, Brett Anderson and Alex Wood are all injured.
Hill owns a 2.229 ERA and 1.09 WHIP over 76 innings this year, making 14 starts.
Reddick provides the Dodgers with OF depth, and the flexibility to entertain a Yasiel Puig trade. With Oakland, Reddick hit .296 with 11 doubles and 8 home runs in 68 games (243 AB). Trayce Thompson and Andre Ethier are currently on the DL.
