Wisdom of the Crowd FanDuel DFS NFL Stacks Week 3
Consensus figures were generated by first scraping raw projections from the following publicly available sources:
  • CBS
  • ESPN
  • FantasyPros
  • Fantasy Sharks
  • Fox
  • numberFire
  • Yahoo
For each source, raw projections were converted to fantasy points using FanDuel's scoring system. Consensus projections were then calculated by simply taking the average of the individual sources. Projections that combine multiple sources have been shown to be more accurate than any single source by itself, consistent with the wisdom of the crowd.

Projections vs. Cost

Top QB/RB Stack - Andrew Luck/Frank Gore vs Chargers

San Diego has only allowed 5 TDs (1 rush) while picking off opposing QBs 3 times.  However, Alex Smith and Blake Bortles completed 66% of their 98 attempts for 692 yards.  Only the Raiders and Steelers have allowed more passing yards.  Their run defense has not been great either, despite a league low 22 attempts against.  The Chiefs and Jaguars rushed for 104 yards (4.7 ypc) and caught 23 passes out of the backfield for another 185.  Luck and Gore could easily hook up for a red zone TD like they did in Week 2.

Top QB/RB/WR Stack - Eli Manning/Shane Vereen/Odell Beckham vs Redskins

The Redskins got torched by Big Ben in week 1 for 300 yards and 3 TDs.  Dak Prescott, the Cowboys rookie QB, followed that up with 292 yards of his own, despite not throwing a TD.  WRs have gained 418 yards on just 28 receptions, Manning and Beckham could hook up early and often, before setting up Vereen for a big 2nd half, spelling Rashad Jennings (thumb) and killing the clock.  No NFC team has seen opposing RBs get more carries than Washington, who has allowed four rushing TD.

Top QB/RB/TE Stack - Ben Roethlisberger/DeAngelo Williams/Jesse James @ Eagles

Philly has faced the Browns (Robert Griffin) and Bears (Jay Cutler/Brian Hoyer), not exactly two great offenses.  Their defense is not THAT good and could be exploited by the Steelers offense in week 3.  Big Ben has thrown 3 TDs in each of Pittsburgh's first two game, including against a much better Bengals defense.  Even when Roethlisberger goes 19 for 37, he throws for 259 yards and 3 scores.  Williams is going to be fed the ball one last time (58 carries), in his last game before the return of Le'Veon Bell.  Roethlisberger completed two TDs to his TEs last week, with James and Xavier Gimble catching touchdowns.  James is one of the cheapest TEs around and only needs to catch one touchdown to prove valuable.  He has seen 12 targets this year.

Top QB/WR Stack- Ryan Tannehill/Jarvis Landry vs Browns

The Browns got torched by Carson Wentz in week 1, making his NFL debut and Mike Wallace caught two touchdowns last week.  Tannehill is looking to repeat what Wentz and Joe Flacco did with 20+ completions and two scores.  He is coming off a 32-45 for 389 against the Patriots.  Landry has caught 17 of his 23 targets for 196 but failed to catch a TD.  Expect that to change on Sunday.

Top QB/WR/WR Stack - Tannehill/Landry/DeVante Parker vs Browns

Parker exploded for 106 yards on 8 catches last week, and the Browns have allowed opposing WR2 to catch 3 touchdowns (Nelson Agholor/Wallace).  Cleveland has allowed more than 14 yards per reception to wide receivers.

Top QB/WR/TE Stack - Roethlisberger/Antonio Brown/James @ Eagles

Who doesn't want Antonio Brown in their lineup?!  Brown will bounce back in a big way after catching just 4 of his 11 targets for 39 yards.  There is no stopping the Steelers offense!

Top QB/TE Stack - Joe Flacco/Dennis Pitta @ Jaguars

Flacco and Pitta connected on 9 completions and 102 yards against the Browns.  The Ravens offense is set up to connect on big plays and things are clicking early on.  The Jaguars have done a good job limiting opposing TE but Antonio Gate did catch a TD last week.  What Jacksonville can not do is prevent QBs from completing passes in the end zone for touchdowns.  The money you will have left over will allow you to pay for some superstars.
