FanDuel NFL DFS Week 4 Lineup
Consensus figures were generated by first scraping raw projections from the following publicly available sources:
  • CBS
  • ESPN
  • FantasyPros
  • Fantasy Sharks
  • Fox
  • numberFire
  • Yahoo
For each source, raw projections were converted to fantasy points using FanDuel's scoring system. Consensus projections were then calculated by simply taking the average of the individual sources. Projections that combine multiple sources have been shown to be more accurate than any single source by itself, consistent with the wisdom of the crowd.

Projections vs Cost

The most obvious stack is the San Diego Chargers offense against the New Orleans Saints.  Philip Rivers, Melvin Gordon, Travis Benjamin and Hunter Henry will most likely be the most popular plays this weekend.  We have removed the Chargers from our player pool to create the stacks below.

Top QB/RB Stack - Drew Brees/Mark Ingram @ Chargers

A running back has scored a touchdown in all three games against the Chargers.  However, teams are not running the ball on San Diego.  Frank Gore's 21 carries was 43% of the rushing attempts against their defense.  Gore rushed for 82 yards and a score.  Spencer Ware gained 70 yards and a TD on just 11 attempts, and another 129 yards on 7 receptions!  The Jaguars were playing from behind and abandoned the run, but T.J. Yeldon did catch 8 passes (for 10 yards).  Corey Grant (who?) caught a TD out of the backfield in garbage time.  The Saints lead the NFL with 24 RB receptions.

Top QB/RB/WR Stack - Matthew Stafford/Theo Riddick/Marvin Jones @ Bears

The Detroit Lions are ranked #2 in RB receptions at 22.  Riddick has caught 16 passes and split carries with Dwayne Washington at 10 each.  Riddick only rushed for 9 yards, but if he can split carries again, this Bears run defense has allowed 364 rushing yards and four TDs.  No team has seen opponents run the ball more often against them.  If you are concerned with the Lions jumping out to an early lead and handing the ball off in the 2nd half, play Washington.

Top QB/RB/TE Stack - Brees/Ingram/Coby Fleener @ Chargers

Alex Smith, Blake Bortles and Andrew Luck all threw for over 329+ yards on SD, completing at least 24 passes.  23 of the 80 completions have gone to TEs.  Two tight ends have caught 6 passes and three have gone for at least 65 yards.  Fleener and Brees were finally on the same page in week 3, good for 7 completions (11 targets) 109 yards and a touchdown.  The over/under for this game is 53.5.

Top QB/WR Stack- Stafford/Jones @ Bears

Stafford has thrown for 985 yards, yet Jones is the only Lions receiver with more than 48 yards in a game.  He is Stafford's #1 target and the Packers had no answer for him last week when piled up 206 yards and two touchdowns on 6 catches.

Top QB/WR/WR Stack - Brees/Cooks/Michael Thomas @ Chargers

If Willie Snead is out, Michael Thomas could be a very valuable and cheap WR play.

We have talked enough about the Saints/Chargers and Lions/Bears.  Dak Prescott/Dez Bryant/Cole Beasley could be the best contrarian stack there is in week 4 against the San Francisco 49ers.  Both the Seahawks and Panthers saw their WR1 post 100+ yards (164 for Doug Baldwin) and a touchdowns (2 for Kelvin Benjamin).  Bryant could have a huge game while Beasley continues to do his thing, catching 5-8 passes and gaining 60-80 yards.  If he happens to catch a TD, you are in the money!

If Bryant plays of course....
With Bryant looking like he will not play, you can turn to Kirk Cousins/DeSean Jackson/Jamison Crowder vs Browns or Trevor Siemian/Demaryius Thomas/Emmanuel Sanders @ Buccaneers

Top QB/WR/TE Stack - Stafford/Jones/Eric Ebron @ Eagles

Ebron proved healthy on Sunday and caught five of his 8 targets for 69 yards.  His targets and yards gained have increased in each of the Lions first three games.  With a shootout expected in the Superdome, I would expect that trend to continue.

Top QB/TE Stack - Cousins/Jordan Reed vs Browns

They are hosting the Browns and Zach Ertz, Dennis Pitta and Dion Sims have combined for 19 catches and 206 yards in three games against them.  Reed is a better talent than all three of those TEs combined and is due for a huge day and his first touchdown (or two) of the season.  Opposing QBs are averaging 299 yards per game against Cleveland with 7 touchdowns.
