Fantasy football owners are already struggling to deal with their early draft picks, and the NFL season has yet to even kickoff! The Kansas City Chiefs have little faith in Jamaal Charles playing Week 1, while the Seattle Seahawks have listed Christine Michael ahead of Thomas Rawls on their unofficial depth chart!
Charcandrick West and/or Spencer Ware were smart additions to any team that drafted Charles, who is returning from an ACL injury. West had more than twice as many carries as Ware in Charles' absence last year, but West suffered an injury in the preseason, boosting Ware up the depth chart. Ware looked more like Charles in his limited time in 2015, averaging 5.6 yards per carry and six touchdowns.
Rawls owners have a bigger problem, as they did not expect a split backfield when they drafted their RB1 in rounds 3 and 4 this summer. Over the last month, Michael has increased his draft stock, but even as of today, is only being drafted in the 9th round. Rawls broke his ankle last year in week 14
Then there is that whole mess of the Baltimore Ravens RBBC with Justin Forsett back in town, Terrance West, Javorius Allen and Kenneth Dixon (eventually).
For those owners who drafted RBs early and often, maybe you avoided the potential headache of the running back position.
