The Utah Jazz will open the 2016-17 NBA Season without Derrick Favors or Gordon Hayward in their lineup.  Hayward is out with a borken finger while Favors is battling knee soreness.  Boris Diaw will get the start tonight, but Trey Lyles should still be considered a value play on both DraftKings and FanDuel.

Lyles only posted two double-doubles as a rookie, but one of those came at the end of the year when Favors missed three of Utah’s final 7 games.  Lyles averaged 19.3 points in those three games and grabbed 5, 6, and 11 rebounds.  He scored 30+ DK points (28.5+ FD) in those three starts and at his $3.6k DK price tag ($4k FD) should provide great value.  He posted 20+ DK points, in 10 of his 33 starts as a rookie, nine times on FD.

Utah should rely heavily on Rodney Hood tonight.  He led the team with 5.7 3PA per game last year, shooting 35.9% from beyond the arc.  Hood has been good against Blazers SG, making 18 of 36 shot attempts when guarded by C.J. McCollum or Allen Crabbe.  He started all four games against Portland, averaged 29.5 minutes and 16.3 pts per game, with Hayward on the floor. Derrick Favors Out NBA DFS Jazz
