Fantasy Football Week 12 Love 'Em Leave 'Em

Week 12 is upon us. Bye weeks are officially over. Three games have already been played, and there were plenty of good performances. Keenan Allen dropped 172 yards on the Cowboys and Kyle Rudolph had his best game of the season. However, there were plenty of bad performances. Dak Prescott continued his horrible play, and Vernon Davis put up a goose egg. Let's hope the rest of Week 12 brings more good than bad.

QUARTERBACKS

Love 'Em: Matt Ryan vs. TB - After a slow start to the season, Matt Ryan has been playing up to his preseason ranking as of late. Ryan has over 100 points in his last 5 contests, ranking behind only Russell Wilson, Kirk Cousins, and Drew Brees. Tampa Bay ranks 11th against the pass, which is Ryan's 2nd best match-up in this 5 game span. Ryan is back and should be looked at as a QB1 for this week's game.

Honorable mention: Ben Roethlisberger vs. GB

Leave 'Em: Alex Smith vs. BUF - Smith has been the opposite of Matt Ryan. Smith was a front runner for the MVP in the early weeks but has struggled lately, throwing for under 250 yards in 2 of his last 3 games and owning a 1:1 TD to INT ratio in that three-game span. He's in trouble against Buffalo this week. He is yet to top 20 points against any defense ranking in the tougher half of the league, and Buffalo's a stout defense, being just the 25th easiest defense against the pass. Coming off of a terrible week against the Giants, it's smart to leave Smith on the bench.

Honorable mention: Jared Goff vs. NO

RUNNING BACKS

Love 'Em: Kareem Hunt vs. BUF - I'm going to hope that Andy Reid notices something as he looks at Kansas City's performance so far this season. There's been an obvious trend. The more Kareem Hunt touches the football, the higher chance the Chiefs have to win. When he was seeing 20+ touches per game, the Chiefs handled the Patriots and the Eagles. However, when Kansas City never commits to him like last Sunday, they end up losing to one of the worst teams in the NFL. Buffalo owns one of the worst run defenses in the league, so I'm putting my money on Hunt blowing up.

Honorable mention: Demarco Murray @ IND, JD McKissic @ SF

Leave 'Em: Jordan Howard @ PHI - Jordan Howard has had a better season than a lot of people realize, having scored the 10th most points of all RB's this season while being injured for a few weeks. Howard faces a tough Philadelphia defense this week. In 2 games against defenses inside the top-7 against the run, Howard has just 14 fantasy points. The Eagles are a top-3 defense, and Chicago will be playing from behind. I don't like Howard this week.

Honorable mention: Alex Collins vs. BAL, Carlos Hyde vs. SEA

WIDE RECEIVERS

Love 'Em: Kenny Stills vs. NE - As I mentioned in the waiver wire article, Kenny Stills and Matt Moore have an incredible amount of chemistry. In three games with Matt Moore at quarterback, Stills has 330 yards and 3 touchdowns. Stills also gets New England, who are allowing the 3rd most fantasy points to WR's this year. Simply put, Stills is a must-start this week.

Honorable mention: Jarvis Landry vs. NE, Rishard Matthews @ IND

Leave 'Em: Amari Cooper vs. DEN - Oh, Amari. I drafted you in the second round. Looking back on it, it was probably the worst decision of my season. Despite scoring last week, Cooper managed to catch just 3 passes. Despite underperforming in the past couple weeks, the Denver cornerbacks are still no joke. If you aren't already, leave Cooper on the bench this week.

Honorable mention: Marqise Lee @ AZ, Jordy Nelson @ PIT

TIGHT ENDS

Love 'Em: Tyler Kroft vs. CLE - Tyler Kroft has an incredible matchup this week against the Cleveland Browns. Nearly every TE the Browns face has a tight end, and I like Kroft to continue that trend this week. The Browns have allowed a touchdown to a tight end in 3 straight games.

Honorable mention: Jared Cook vs. DEN

Leave 'Em: Austin Hooper vs. TB - Opposite of Ryan, Hooper gets one of the tougher defenses in the league. Tampa Bay allows the 4th least fantasy points to tight ends per game, and Hooper hasn't seen as much use as of late with just 11 catches over his last 3 games. Leave Hooper on the bench and look for other Atlanta studs.

Honorable mention: Charles Clay @ KC
