Shohei Ohtani Debuts At Spring Training

Update: Was the DH today, batted 2nd and picked up an RBI single, drawing two walks

Pitching Debut

The Los Angeles Angels SP/DH Shohei Ohtani made his MLB Spring Training debut today.  It started off with a ground rule double, hit by Jonathan Villar on a 3-1 pitch.  However, the next batter, Nate Orf, struck out swinging on three pitches.

Ohtani would throw a wild pitch on ball four to Ji-Man Choi, which led to a throwing error by Jonathan Maldonado and allowed Villar to score.  Choi was walked on four straight balls.

Manny Pina would pop out to the catcher on a 1-0 count, before Brett Phillips went down looking on three straight strikes.

Keon Broxton would lead off the 2nd inning for the Brewers, and hit a home run off Ohtani on a 1-1 pitch.

Nick Franklin would fly out on the first pitch he saw from Ohtani and that would be all for Shohei.
