Spotlight Player of the Day
8/22 - Dustin Keller
- Keller has averaged 49 catches for 581 yards since coming into the league in 2008. His downside has been the TDs with just 10 over that 3 year span. The Jets will open the playbook a little this season which could allow for more TD coming Keller's way. However, with Plax now on the roster, Sanchez is sure to look Burress' way first on all red zone attempts. Still, Keller has a ton of potential and value as a mid round TE.
- Michael Vick has promised to get Celek more involved in the offense this season. Celek only caught more than 4 passes in one game last year (10 in week 16). If Vick fulfills his promise then Celek would be a steal if he is the 19th TE selected. However, Vick and the Eagles were winning comfortably without him, and things could quickly return to 2010. Celek is a very risky selection with an HUGE upside, but be sure to have a back up plan!
8/9 - Rob Gronkowski
- UPDATE - Not to worry, Gronk has since returned to the practice field and is good to go.
- Gronkowski left practice yesterday to an undisclosed injury. The good news is that he walked off the field, with the trainers. The bad news is that they have not updated his status yet. He has a ton of value in fantasy, as Brady looked often to him in the Red Zone. He only caught 42 passes last season, but 10 of them went for TDs. Keep an eye on this one.
Ed Dickson -
- With Heap out of the picture, Dickson is the Ravens starting TE. If he as good as advertised, and see's as many targets as Heap used to in his prime, Dickson could put up big numbers
Jared Cook -
- For the first time in a long time, the Titans actually have a QB. Matt Hasselbeck is a great decision maker and will check down to his TE as needed. Cook is a highly talented pass catcher and at 6'5 provides his QB with a giant target. A lot of red zone looks could come his way. The only negative is that the Titans are not known to produce many fantasy points in the passing game, with Chris Johnson in the backfield.
