Clippers @ Grizzlies Game 1
Grizzlies 110 Clippers 100 (OT)

The Grizzlies and Clippers series has the potential to be the most exciting and competitive round 1 matchup of this year's playoffs. With a lot of young and athletic talent, it will be a very well played series, and that exactly what we got in game 1! This game went back and forth, both teams changing leads and the Grizzlies took a 51-46 lead at half. The Clippers got hot in the third quarter as they tied things up going into the 4th at 75. With 4.8 seconds left the Clippers had a 3 point lead, and the Grizzlies used their last timeout to draw up a play. The play was to get it into the hot hands of Rudy Gay at the top of the key, and he drained a 3 to tie it at the buzzer to send it into OT! With the home fans still electric after the game tying 3, the Grizzlies used their momentum to run away with the game in OT and take game one 110-100.

Rudy Gay finished the game with 20 points (7-14, 2-2 3pt, 4-4 ft) to go along with his 8 rebounds and 4 steals. Marc Gasol added a double double with his team high 21 points (8-12, 5-6 ft) and 10 boards. Zach Randolph also had a big game with 18 points (8-10, 2-3 ft), 9 boards and 4 assists. Mike Conley was a point away from a double double as he had 9 points (4-10, 1-4 ft) and 10 assists. The Grizzlies were very aggresive offensively getting to the line 37 times making 26 of them. They only attempted four 3's making two of them, one being that buzzer beater to send it into OT. They'll have to rebound better on the defensive glass as they gave up 18 offensive boards. Other than that though they played a great game only turning it over 11 times.

Despite the loss, the Clippers got some really good efforts from Caron Butler and Blake Griffin. Caron Butler was on fire all game dropping in 30 points (11-20, 3-6 3pt, 5-5 ft) and Blake Griffin had 15 points (6-8, 3-4 ft) and 17 boards (5 off, 12 deff). Chris Paul had 16 points and 9 assists but only shot 6-19 from the field, missing all four 3's he attempted. Kenyon Martin had a good game off the bench with 8 points, 8 boards and 2 blocks. Nick Young scored 15 points on 6-13 from the field. The Clippers did a great job on the boards, especially with their 18 offensive rebounds but they'll need to be smarter with the basketball as they turned it over 19 times.

Game two is Wednesday Night in Memphis
