Fantasy Basketball Week 4 Recap

A week ago Sunday, Cleveland Cavaliers PG Kyrie Irving injured his finger, leaving the Cavs with a huge hole to fill at the Point Guard position.  They had 4 options to fill the position:
  1. Rookie Dion Waiters who played the point at Syracuse, but is really a Shooting Guard
  2. Veteran Daniel "Boobie" Gibson, who is a 3pt chucker
  3. Second year player Jeremy Pargo who the Cavaliers traded for back in July
  4. Journeyman Donald Sloan who has dominated the D-League for the last 2 seasons
The Cavaliers decided to go with Pargo and in 3 starts he has not disappointed. dropping 28 points in his first game, he has followed that up with 15 and 16 point performances shooting 22 for 46 over that span including 7 for 16 from downtown!  As expected, there were not many assists handed out, 12 over 3 games but Pargo has done a good job helping fantasy owners.  Still just 22% owned in Yahoo leagues, Pargo can help for still another month, and is definitely worth owning!

The Minnesota Timberwolves welcomed Kevin Love back this week and he treated owners to one hell of a week!  He dropped 34 points in his season debut and has yet to grab less than 13 rebounds in 3 games!  He is struggling from beyond the arc making just 2 or 22 attempts (18%) and is struggling from the free throw line (22 for 34 66%) but that will work itself out.  The thing owners should be happy with is 60 shot attempts and 34 free throw attempts in 3 games!  Welcome back!

The #1 overall pick Anthony Davis, could miss 2 more weeks with an ankle injury.  Robin Lopez (35%), who we said was due for a breakout season, has been taking full advantage of Davis not being around to steal his rebounds.  He has grabbed 30 rebounds in the 4 games Anthony Davis has missed and even dropped a 21 point game on the Indiana Pacers knocking down 15 of his 17 free throws!  We do not expect Lopez to score 20 points often but he will help you in the blocks category as well.  He has three straight games of 4 blocks!
