A Look at Draftking's 12k Tourny 12/12/12

Wednesday is finally here, and we’re left to wonder “Can I win the big 12k tourney on Draftkings?” Well, we’re here to give you some confidence going into the tournament if you’ve joined. It’s a decent chunk of change (12$), but first place wins big time cash. There is a huge player pool for the day and there are plenty of great options to choose from. Here are our top 3 plays per position for Wednesday.

Point Guard:
  1. Stephen Curry
  2. Tony Parker
  3. Rajon Rondo
Value Play - Alexey Shved
Stephen Curry is one of the hottest shooters in the league right now. He has gone for over 45 in four of his last five games. Parker just went for a triple double against the Rockets, and is almost as hot as Curry. In his last five games he has gone for over 40 four times. Rajon Rondo has been his steady self going for over 30 in each of his last three games, but has slowed a little since his early season domination. He’s still a great play.

Shooting Guard:
  1. James Harden
  2. OJ Mayo
  3. Evan Turner
Value Play - Marco Belinelli
James Harden has big time point potential and on a night where you gotta risk it to get the biscuit, he’s a guy you’ll want on your team.  Mayo has gone for over 30 in five straight games, and is decently priced at 6.1k. Saving a little bit of cash could get you some bigger players at the forward position. Turner is another one of those guys who can put up big fantasy numbers, but he’s a little inconsistent. We really lik his matchup Wednesday against the Bulls as he put up over 30 on them last time they played.

Small Forward:
  1. LeBron James
  2. Chandler Parsons
  3. Tyreke Evans
Value Play - Tyreke Evans
LeBron James should be able to do anything he wants against the Warriors and their lack of defensive talent. They have no real big men that can dominate other then David Lee. Parsons had a very nice game against the Spurs and looks to be healthy and back to his old ways of having great value. Evans is one of those guys that you can’t play unless you know for sure he’s starting before 7pm. He has cost many of us money lately and we’re scared to play him half the time, but he can be great when he goes.

Power Forward:
  1. David Lee
  2. Zach Randolph
  3. Al Horford

Value Play - Lavoy Allen
David Lee has put up 46 or more in his last three games and is playing like one of the best power forwards in the league right now. He has a decent matchup against the Heat. Zach Randolph faces a bad Phoenix team who gives up a ton of points. Zbo has potential to go off as we saw with his unreal performance last week. Horford didn’t have an impressive game against the Magic the last time they played, but he’s playing better now, and is primed for a big game.

  1. Joakim Noah
  2. Anderson Varejao
  3. Tim Duncan
Value Play - Jermaine O’Neal
Noah has probably the best matchup of the night going up against the 76ers. Recently everyone has dominated against their big men. Varejao played last night and didn’t have a double double, but played great and should do so against the Pacers. Even though it’s not the best of matchups, his price isn’t that high and he can be a top center each night out. Tim Duncan is a safe play for 30+ points each night, and won’t give you over 45. He’s got a good matchup going against the Jazz,  a team that he had a great game going for 45 fantasy points versus the last time they played.
