NBA Plays for Draftkings 1/14

You know it’s going to be a great night of fantasy NBA when the freeroll can’t be seen on the front page of Draftkings without scrolling down. We have a nice eight games to choose from with some tougher value plays to pick from.

Not Going Anywhere for a While?
Monday’s action might be decided by injury information that comes out as the day progresses. There are some value plays that are going to be determined by the injury status of guys like Serge Ibaka and Thabo Sefolosha. Those two were both out on Sunday, but it remains to be seen if they’ll be back on the court Monday. DeAndre Liggins is more of a reach than Nick Collison, but they are both under 4k.

Two Guards on the Road
We really like two point guards that will be on the road Monday night. Jameer Nelson has been a top notch fantasy option due to production and the fact that he hasn’t been priced over $7,400 this season. In his last five games, he is averaging 43 fantasy points a game and scoring at will going for 22 a game.

The other guard we really like will cost you some money, but the matchup should make it worth it. Russell Westbrook is playing very well as of late, averaging 45 fantasy points in his last six games before Sunday night. Add in the fact that the Phoenix Suns are one of the worst teams against point guards and we love the play. People might be afraid of the blowout factor, but we think playing back to back on the road will make this closer than people think.

Crazy Gabey’s Man Crush
Tristan Thompson has been one of Crazy Gabey’s favorite players to choose from this season. If you don’t know Gabey, make sure to give him a follow on twitter (@CrazyGabey). He’s had good reason to be consistently picked and his last ten games show us why. He is averaging 13 points and 11 rebounds in six games (before Sunday’s Lakers game) which is good for 33 fantasy points a game. He goes up against the Kings.

Our Biggest Love/Hate Relationship
As everyone who follows us knows, Tyreke Evans has been loved and hated by us this entire season. We have said we’ll never pick him again, but we took the risk and went with him the night he went for 41 fantasy points. He followed that game up with 20 points in the next game, but we like him on Monday nonetheless. Coach Smart has said that Evans will be starting, and with a night where Draftkings has stepped up its game pricing we like his $5,200 price.

Playing Like a King
There are many ways we could go with this, but we’re going to stay positive on this King’s player for Monday. Isaiah Thomas is priced at $4,500 and should be up against Kyrie Irving on a back to back which is always nice. Add in the fact that he has played 93 minute in the last three games and he seems like a reliable play in terms of minutes. He has gone for 47 and 30 points in his last two contests and we’re taking the risk on going with two Kings players Monday. Lord help us.
