Miami Marlins Still Fishing for Their First Run

The Miami Marlins have yet to score a run this season but to their defense they had to face Stephen Strasburg and Gio Gonzalez before they even had a chance to warmup!  They have managed just 7 hits.  Giancarlo Stanton is the only Marlin worth owning for the time being.  Gio Gonzalez hit a home run and has more runs scored and RBI than the entire Marlins lineup!

Bryce Harper had 2 more hits including a double and scored another run.  Is he better than Mike Trout? That's a clown question bro!

There must be something to wearing the White Sox catching gear because Tyler Flowers is picking up right where A.J. Pierzynski left off, belting another home run.

As far as the Sox bullpen goes, they have used just about everyone in the pen for a batter or two and moved on.  Outside of Addison Reed it is hard to keep a Sox reliever on your team until we figure out how Robin Ventura plans on using the bullpen.  Can't have guys facing a single batter on your fantasy team.

In his first call to action after Ryan Ludwick was placed on the DL, Chris Heisey nearly landed himself on the DL after taking a ball to the face.  He stole second and got hit in the nose on the throw from the catcher.  He did tally a steal for those who picked him up!

Albert Pujols and Josh Hamilton are still hitless while Mike Trout earned his first XBH of the season.

Lance Berkman continued his hot start with his first double and 3rd RBI of the season.  He is hitting .600.
From this point forward, when streaming pitching, always look to the guy facing the Astros!  They strikeout a ton.

Jose Altuve continues to be the lone mixed league value hitter on the Astros.

Dave Sappelt got the start for the Cubbies in CF and hit leadoff while Scott Hairston played RF against the Pirates left hander.  Not a good sign for David DeJesus, but I can't imagine this Cubs team can afford to platoon DeJesus.

Neil Walker walked twice and didn't strike out!

Chase Utley looks healthy and already has hit for the cycle (over two games).  The Phillies pitching staff however, looks deathly ill.  Halladay lasted just 3.1 innings, allowing 6 hits, 5 runs and 3 walks.  He did stirke out 9 batters though.

As expected, the Tigers bullpen has already caused problems.  3 different relievers allowed runs, wasting 5 shutout innings from Anibal Sanchez.  The offense was limited to 7 singles over 7 innings of Kevin Correia.

The back of the Twins bullpen is as solid as it gets with Jared Burton leading the way to Glen Perkins.  The Twins could be this years Orioles and win a ton of close games.

Matt Harvery pitched a gem striking out 10 Padres.  The Mets are beating up on San Diego and it should light up your eyes every time your Slugger/Ace faces that team.

Lucas Duda clobbered the ball yesterday with an upper deck shot and added a double as well.

New Yankees Travis Hafner and Vernon Wells were the only Yankees offense.  Hafner hit a home run, to the exact same spot every lefty does, while Vernon Wells added 3 hits including a 3 run homer.  Lyle Overbay also got his first hit as a Yankee.

Hiroki Kuroda exited the game early after a comebacker hit him in the hand.  He should be ok.
It's nice to see Clay Buchholz bring the success he had at the end of last season and carry it over to this season.  He held the Yankees to just 6 hits over 7 innings.

Will Middlebrooks was the only Red Sox to not have a hit yesterday and is hitless on the season.

The Blue Jays are off to a 0-2 start as the offense has struggled against Justin Masterson and Ubaldo JimenezChris Perez blew the save last night after Jose Bautista went yard.  Joe Smith picked up the save in extra innings.

A We Talk Fantasy Sports favorite, Michael Brantley had 4 hits but was only picked up once and scored once, he did add an RBI as well.

The Colorado Rockies offense has already scored 19 runs on the Brewers.  They added 3 more home runs last night, including 2 off John Axford in the 9th inning.  Dexter Fowler is now 2-2 off Axford this season with 2 dingers.

Carlos Gomez robbed Carlos Gonzalez of a home run

Michael Cuddyer didn't start as Eric Young hit leadoff against Wily Peralta.  let's hope this is not a common occurrence because Cuddyer is an important bat for fantasy owners.

The middle of the Brewers lineup has been very good with Rickie Weeks, Ryan Braun and Aramis Ramirez all contributing.  Jonathan Lucroy got the night off in favor of Maldonado.  Unfortunately, this is going to happen at least once a week.

SS Jean Segura has quietly gone 5-11.  If he can continue to get hits, the Brewers might be forced to move him into the 2 hole and let Rickie Weeks hit 5th.  That would be great for everyone!

The Baltimore Orioles continue to hit great Tampa Bay pitching, scoring 7 runs in a losing effort.  Chris Davis hit a 3 run bomb and had 4 RBI on the day adding 2 doubles.

For you AL-Only guys, Nate McClouth hit leadoff as expected he will against right handed pitching.  Steve Pearce takes the bench for now in these situations.

I was happy to see Manny Machado still in the 2 hole while Nick Markakis slides down to the 3 spot.

Remember Shelley Duncan?  He hit a 3 run homer for the Rays as their DH.  If he can take advantage of his ABs against left handed pitching, he could be a power source for AL-Only leagues.

Fernando Rodney blew a save last night, rare, before earning a W on Matt Joyce walk off home run.

Another We Talk Fantasy Sports favorite, Gerardo Parra, scored 3 times in a 16 inning affair with the Cardinals.  He hit a lead off home run and added a triple later.  The top of this Diamondbacks lineup is lethal.

Daniel Descalsco had 4 hits including 2 doubles, driving in 2 and scoring twice himself.  Allen Craig also hit 2 doubles in 8 ABs!  Yadier Molina hit a solo shot and drove in 3 for the Cardinals.

In one of the weirdest pitching box scores ever, Brandon McCarthy started the game for the Cardinals with 5 IP and Josh Collmenter finished the game with 5 IP.  5 other pitchers pitched in between them.

Michael Morse hit his 3rd home run of the season, but two 1st inning homers was not enough for the Mariners to sweep the As.  Tommy Milone retired 17 of the Mariners final 18 batters he faced and Jed Lowrie sparked Oakland with 3 hits including 2 doubles and a HR while driving in 3.

One positive sign from the Dodgers loss is Carl Crawford is hitting the ball!  He went 3 for 4 and is hitting over .500.

The Dodgers should be embarrassed they lost this game as Tim Lincecum walked 7 batters in just 5 innings.  Lincecum actually earned a W as Sergio Romo picked up his 2nd save.
