Fantasy Baseball 2nd Half Slumps

Since the MLB All-Star Break, a bunch of important fantasy baseball players, have seen their seasons go downhill.  Prior to the All-Star Game, guys like Jean Segura, Gerardo Parra, Starling Marte and Manny Machado were leading fantasy owners to the top of their leagues.  But since the break, Segura just .247, Parra is hitting just .186, Marte just .194 and Machado just .228.  Let's break this down position by position to get a better look at the reason your fantasy team has struggled as of late.

People continue to draft catchers early, and I can not figure out why.

Prince FielderTigers2393221560110121019000.237

Some on this list aren't even owned in many leagues, but Davis, Goldschmidt and Fielder most definitely are!  Prince has hit just a single home run in 23 games since the break.  LaRoche is a career .289 hitter in the 2nd half and a guy I usually always target around the All-Star Break.  This season however, .171.

We are talking about 4 of the top 5 2B here and all 6 of them are in the top 15!  Again a position of weakness that should not be overvalued next season!

Todd FrazierReds217214770096916000.194

Outside of Miguel Cabrera and Adrian Beltre, this position has been a huge disappointment.  Considering how poorly Frazier has played all season, I guess you could argue he isn't "slumping."

Considering we played most of the season without Hanley Ramirez, Jose Reyes and Troy Tulowitzki, this position is also wasted on draft day by many owners.

Yoenis CespedesAthletics1871168413811620110.225

Cespedes has hit .225 all season long but if he provides 30 home runs on the season, it's not a total waste.  Would love to see Marte get on base a bit more to add to his 28 1st half stolen bases.

How many of these guys are on your rosters? Did you draft them? Trade for them? Pick them up as a FA?
