Aroldis Chapman Takes Liner Off Face

UPDATE: Chapman will undergo surgery, out 6-8 weeks

Cincinnati Reds closer, Aroldis Chapman, took a line drive to the face, off the bat of Salvador Perez last night.  Aroldis suffered fractures above his left eye and his nose. The one positive here is that he never lost consciousness.

However, this is a sport that is played daily, and with the start of the season just 10 days away, the Reds have to go to plan B when it comes to the 9th inning. I would give Jonathan Broxton every opportunity to close first, with Chapman out indefinitely, but the Reds also have J.J. Hoover and Sean Marshall so make sure you pay close attention here.
