Get To Know Him - Michael Choice

The Texas Rangers have injury issues and the 2014 MLB season has not even started yet. They've lost phenom second baseman Jurickson Profar for 10-12 weeks and catcher Geovany Soto for 12 weeks as well. Clearly losing Profar is a big blow as they traded Ian Kinsler for Prince Fielder to allow Profar to play everyday.

However there is a huge bright spot for the team as 24 year old outfielder Michael Choice is having an absolute monster spring training. In 28 games Choice is hitting .369 (24-65) with 5 doubles, a triple, 5 home runs and 17 RBI.

Clearly Shin-Soo Choo and Alex Rios own the corner outfield spots but if either one of them finds themselves on the DL, then Michael Choice will be the guy to fill in for them. There is a chance that Choice will platoon with Mitch Moreland as the Rangers DH. However if Moreland only hits .232 like he did in 2013, despite the 23 home runs, Choice could find himself in the Rangers lineup everyday.
