Daily Fantasy - Start Danny Salazar

With one start under his belt, Danny Salazar will be making his first road start of the year against the Chicago White Sox and John Danks. In his previous start, Salazar faced the Minnesota Twins and went 5.2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 7 hits. After allowing 2 runs in the first inning, Salazar settled down the rest of the way and the Indians were able to go on to win 7-2. However Salazar walked away with a no decision. In 2013 Salazar started 10 games and posted a 3.12 ERA and a 1.13 WHIP. The most encouraging stat were his 65 strike outs in 52 innings.

Salazar is a strike out pitcher and in 6 of his 10 starts last season, he struck out 7 or more batters. That includes both starts against the White Sox.

Salazar made two starts against the White Sox last season and was 1-0. He lasted 9 innings, allowing 10 hits and 2 runs. Of those 10 hits, shortstop Alexei Ramirez was 4-5 with 4 singles. Two batters that really struggle to hit against Salazar are third baseman Conor Gillaspie who is 0-5 against him with 3 strikeouts and outfielder Dayan Viciedo who is 1-4 with 3 strikeouts.
