Thinking 'Bout Thursday - Falcons vs Buccaneers

Well that was probably the most embarrassing game I've ever witnessed. 56-0 after 3 quarters? It's amazing that players on the Bucs get payed millions of dollars. The Falcons put a beat down on the Bucs and the everyone around the country got to watch. I'm not sure where the team goes from here, but it should be interesting.

Matt Ryan, Julio Jones and Devin Hester absolutely destroyed the Bucs.

Ryan in less than 3 quarters went 21/24 for 286 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Julio Jones in less than 3 quarters put up 161 yards and 2 touchdowns on 9 receptions.

Devin Hester took an end around 20 yards for a touchdown, returned a 62 yard punt for a touchdown (which broke Deion Sanders record), caught 1 pass for 25 yards, and forced a fumble after Matt Ryan was picked off. Not a bad night.

The Falcons run game wasn't impressive but Steven Jackson scored his first touchdown of the year, as he carried the ball 14 times for 54 yards. Antone Smith did lose a fumble but he also had 50 yards on 4 carries, which included a 38 yard touchdown. Devonta Freeman and Jacquizz Rodgers combined for just 18 yards on 16 carries.

If you owned the Falcons defense/special teams (which sadly wasn't many people) they rewarded you in a big way. 8 points allowed, 3 sacks, 1 interception, 4 fumble recoveries, and 2 touchdowns.

For Tampa, it wasn't all. You can go ahead and drop Josh McCown if you own him in any leagues. He went 5/12 for 58 yards and a pick before exiting the game with a hand injury. Mike Glennon played better but it was already 42-0 when he came in. He finished 17/24 for 121 yards and a touchdown.

There was still no Doug Martin for the Bucs so everyone went ahead and started Bobby Rainey. Well that didn't work out too well, especially if you are not in PPR leagues. Rainey ran for 41 yards on 11 carries and lost 2 fumbles. He did add 7 catches for 64 yards though.

Vincent Jackson was held without a catch until the 4th quarter when he caught 2 balls for 15 yards and a touchdown on the Bucs second to last drive. Mike Evans had 4 catches for 52 yards.
