Fantasy Football Playoffs - Running Backs

Monday Night Football Update - Matt Forte totaled 99 yards, and added 2 receptions, but failed to score for fantasy owners.  Was it enough for you?  Mark Ingram rushed for 59 yards, but managed to score a touchdown.  His 1st TD since October 30th!  Was he still in your lineup?! Pierre Thomas gained 94 total yards and with 5 receptions could have helped nearly every PPR owner!

Matt Forte owners will be following Monday Night Football closely, as the Bears host the Saints. Forte scored a TD last week against the Cowboys, and gained 100 yards from the line of scrimmage, but just 26 of them came via rushing yards.  Forte picked up 74 yards on 8 receptions, something PPR guys love! RBs have been so up and down this season, and Jeremy Hill was the lone back to gain 100 rushing yards in Week 15 of the NFL.  Hill was great against the woeful Browns, picking up 148 rushing yards on 25 carries, scoring two touchdowns.  Giovani Bernard also had a nice day with 79 yards on 14 carries and added 24 receiving yards.

Le'Veon Bell TD Run GIF

Le'Veon Bell has continued his breakout season in the fantasy football playoffs.  He was limited against the Atlanta Falcons run defense to just 47 yards on 20 carries, but he scored two rushing TDs, and caught 5 passes for 72 yards.  He caught 6 passes for 50 yards against the Bengals in Week 14, while gaining 185 yards on the ground and scored 3 touchdowns (2 rushing).  He is the clear #1 pick in 2015 Fantasy Football drafts.

Bell Was Our Favorite RB Heading Into the Fantasy Football Playoffs

DeMarco Murray leads all running backs with 260 yards in the last 2 weeks, but like Bell, struggled this week.  The Eagles held Murray to just 81 yards on 31 carries, but did managed to score twice. Something LeSean McCoy owners could have seen, if Chip Kelly decided to keep him on the field instead of Chris Polk!  Then he teased Shady McCoy owners with a sweep to Darren Sproles for a TD, with McCoy as the lead blocker!  Murray picked up 179 rushing yards against the Bears, adding 49 receiving yards on 9 receptions, and scored a touchdown.

Knile Davis only touched the ball 10 times for the Chiefs against the Raiders, but scored on a 70 reception and a 3 yard run.  It is highly unlikely that anyone started him, even though Jamal Charles was known to be playing through an injury.

Tre Mason did not have a good game on Thursday Night Football against the Arizona Cardinals, who just clinched a playoff berth.  His lost fumble and 33 rushing yards led to negative points in most fantasy leagues!  He picked up just 81 yards on 27 carries against the Cardinals defense this season.

The Other Bell

Joique Bell has gained 236 total yards over the last 2 Lions games, including 91 on 9 receptions. He picked up 145 rushing yards on 33 attempts, good for 4.39 yards per carry.  He scored two touchdowns, but both came in Week 14 against the Bucs.  He has been a top 5 RB in the fantasy football playoffs.
