Fantasy Football Playoffs - Wide Receivers

Monday Night Football Update - Marques Colston finally came through, but was it too late?  Was he in your lineup?  His 5 receptions tied for a team high, he caught a TD and gained 65 yards.  Add that to the 5 catches for 75 yards he had last week and he is a safe WR3 in the Fantasy Football Championship!  Kenny Still also caught 5 passes and gained 67 yards, but he is too risky to start next week, unless you are in the deepest of leagues and do not play PPR.  Alshon Jeffery caught a garbage time TD, one of his four receptions for 78 yards, and may have saved your season....

This was the year of the wide receiver in the NFL.  11 wide receivers have gained over 1,000 yards, and Alshon Jeffery needs just 51 yards tonight to join them!  Four rookie WRs can reach 1,000 yards this season, with Odell Beckham Jr. needing just 28 yards to do so.  OBJ has been unbelievable for the Giants since joining the team in Week 5.  He is the first NFL rookie to have gained 90+ yards in 7 straight games!  He caught 3 of his 7 touchdowns on Sunday against the Redskins, including this easy catch and run:

Kelvin Benjamin and Mike Evans each need about 50 yards to reach 1,000, while Sammy Watkins is 150 yards shy.

Dez Bryant also caught 3 touchdowns on Sunday, and fantasy owners needed that from him as he totaled just 12 receptions over the Cowboys last two contests for just 196 yards!  It's even better for Evans owners, who saw their receiver catch 50% of his passes in the endzone!  He caught 6 passes for 58 yards over the Bucs last two games.

Bryant Was Our Favorite WR Heading into the Fantasy Football Playoffs

Julian Edelman, T.Y. Hilton, Jordy Nelson, Roddy White and Cole Beasley are the only other receivers who have caught two touchdowns since the start of Week 14.  Hilton suffered a hamstring injury in the Colts win over the Texans.

With Julio Jones out, Harry Douglas stepped up big time for those who gave him a shot, catching 10 passes for 131 yards.  Jarvis Landry also came up big for those in PPR leagues who needed to replace a Jones, or Brandon Marshall.  Landry added 8 catches against the Patriots, gaining 99 yards.  The rookie now has 14 receptions for 154 yards in the fantasy football playoffs.

Antonio Brown has yet to score, but he has 19 receptions (2nd) for 243 yards (3rd).  He has gone 5/50 in 30 consecutive games now!

A.J. Green Has Owners Feeling Blue

After exploding for 224 yards on 11 receptions against the Steelers, Bengals WR A.J. Green gained just 49 yards (5 rec) against the Browns, and failed to score on Sunday.

Keenan Allen left the Chargers game with an ankle injury, and has just 5 receptions for 21 yards in the fantasy football playoffs. Josh Gordon was useless against the Bengals who beat Johnny Manziel and the Browns 30-0.
