White Sox Sign Melky Cabrera

The Chicago White Sox and Melky Cabrera have agreed to a 3 year $42 mil contract.  This has been a great offseason for the Sox, adding Adam LaRoche to DH, Jeff Samardzija to join Chris Sale in the rotation, added Zach Duke to the bullpen and found a closer in David Robertson.  This comes after signing Jose Abreu last offseason and they also acquired their leadoff hitter, Adam Eaton, in a trade with the Arizona Diamondbacks last December.  I would expect there to be one more move made in Chicago, as Dayan Viciedo has now been forced to the bench.

The Toronto Blue Jays acquired Michael Saunders via trade with the Seattle Mariners in exchange for J.A. Happ and he will replace Melky in the Blue Jays lineup.  They are still looking for a CF with Colby Rasmus being a free agent and currently see Dalton Pompey as their starter.  Pompey is a 21 year old who played in A, AA & AAA ball last season combining to hit .317 and stole 43 bases.
