Yu Darvish To Have Tommy John Surgery

The 2015 MLB season has not even started but it's already off to an awful start for the Texas Rangers. They have learned that their ace Yu Darvish will have to undergo Tommy John surgery and will miss the entire season.  Texas acquired long time Brewers pitcher Yovani Gallardo this offseason, who will now be the Ace of their staff that features Derek Holland, Ross Detwiler, Colby Lewis and Nick Martinez/Michael Kirkman.  They should probably trade for Mets Dillon Gee.

Darvish will turn 30 years old when he finally returns to the MLB.  He will miss the 2015 season, after starting just 22 games in 2014.  He has 680 strikeouts in 545.1 innings pitched.  When he is healthy, he is one of the best pitchers in the league.

The Rangers will have to rely on Prince Fielder returning from neck surgery, Shin-Soo Choo rebounding from a bad season, and Adrian Beltre continuing to get better with age if the Rangers want to contend in the American League West.  They will be without Jurickson Profar again this season.
