Alex Rodriguez is back and it's like he never left!  He already has 4 home runs on the season and picked up 11 RBI, all while hitting .316.  In the New York Yankees 3 game sweep of the Tampa Bay Rays,  A-Rod scored 6 runs, hitting two home runs in the opener and drove in 4 runs that game.  It was his second 4 RBI game of the season.  If you own him, you should consider selling him while he is still healthy and hasn't been handed a random drug test!

Kris Bryant finally made his MLB debut.  After striking out 3 times in 4 ABs in his debut, Bryant looked much more comfortable at the plate on Saturday, drawing 3 walks and picking up his first RBI.  Bryant recorded his first XBH on Sunday, a double.  The Cubs head to Pittsburgh for a 4 game series and his first action on the road, away from the friendly confines of Wrigley Field.

Nelson Cruz is playing like a man possessed right now, and leads the MLB with 8 home runs.  He hit 6 of them in a 5 game stretch and added 2 more on Sunday, picking up 5 RBI.  He is a streaky hitter and over the last 3 seasons has hit 61 first half homers and just 30 after the All-Star break.  He is fun to own in fantasy baseball and many owners would love to have him.  If you can swap him for a group of all-around better players, I would pull the trigger.

The New York Mets just swept the Miami Marlins in a 4 game series at Citi Field and Christian Yelich looked lost at the plate.  He struck out 7 times over the final two games and has picked up an RBI in just 2 of the Marlins 11 games.  Owners are frustrated, go acquire him in a trade!  There is a good reason why Miami thought he was worth a 7 year $49.5 mil extension.

Mets Place d'Arnaud on the DL, Call up Plawecki

The Tampa Bay Rays acquired Steven Souza this offseason for a good reason.  Dude can play.  Just didn't have a place to in Washington.  He has 4 multi hit games in the Rays last 6 and is owned in just 62% of Yahoo leagues, 50% ESPN.  Pick him up if your league doesn't crush you for strikeouts.

Denard Span was activated off the DL by the Washington Nationals and will retain his leadoff spot and play CF.  He picked up a hit and scored a run on Sunday.  Span is only owned in 54% of Yahoo leagues, 30% ESPN.  Go grab him!

Trevor Bauer will start twice this week, today against the Chicago White Sox and again on Sunday at Detroit.  It's impossible to trust a guy who walks 9 guys in 12 innings.  I don't care if he strikes out every one he doesn't walk.  He is one pitch away from disaster every game and his pitch counts are way to high to rack up innings.  Trade him while you still can!

Two Start Pitchers to Target

The Chicago White Sox are off to a 4-7 start, and are not hitting or pitching all that well.  To help, they have called up prized pitching prospect, Carlos Rodon.  He will join the starting rotation at some point in the season, but for now he will pitch out of the bullpen.  He is already stashed in 38% of Yahoo leagues, being added 15,000 Sunday!  He has 51 strikeouts in 34.1 Minor League innings pitched.  Chicago drafted him 3rd overall in the 2014 MLB Draft out of North Carolina State.  If he is available, add him to your roster.

Chris Heston has done a nice job filling in, in the San Francisco Giants rotation, and it looks like he is going to be there for a while.  With Matt Cain still on the DL and Jake Peavy being placed on the disabled list, Heston is now the 3rd man in the rotation, behind Madison Bumgarner and Tim Hudson.  With 20 innings pitched, Heston owns and ERA and WHIP under 1.00!  Dallas Keuchel, David Price and Max Scherzer are the only other pitchers to do that this season.  Heston is owned in just 19% of Yahoo leagues, 17% ESPN.
