Mets Travis d'Arnaud Fractures Hand

The New York Mets are off to a 10-3 start, winning 8 games in a row, and Travis d'Arnaud has been a big reason.  He is hitting .317 with 2 home runs and 10 RBI and even threw out Dee Gordon twice in the Mets 4 game sweep over the Miami Marlins.  However, he was hit by a pitch in the 7th inning of today's game, and x-rays confirmed a fracture.  It's terrible news for a surging Mets team that is already without David Wright and lost Jerry Blevins today as well with a fractured forearm, getting hit with a line drive.

The Mets have a nice prospect in Kevin Plawecki just waiting for an opportunity and this seems like the right time to call him up.  Anthony Recker is a nice backup, but probably can't handle the load of catching everyday.

If you own d'Arnaud in fantasy baseball, Yan Gomes and Devin Mesoraco owners feel your pain.  Derek Norris is your top option to add to your roster.  He is owned in 49% of Yahoo leagues, 50% ESPN.  Caleb Joseph has been hot of late and is owned in just 10% of Yahoo leagues, 5% of ESPN.  Matt Wieters could be back in early May though.
