I’ll start by introducing myself, I am a member of The DFS Crew (@TheDFSCrew on twitter) and we are a team of successful daily fantasy strategists who offer lineup subscriptions along with a daily blog to recap the previous days games and preview the upcoming games. Now that you know a little about me and my team, I’ll get to the important information, previewing tonight's games.
With a full slate of games on Tuesday night, comes a lot of tough decisions for daily fantasy baseball players.
In both one and two pitcher formats I believe there is a clear number one pitcher for tomorrow night and that is Madison Bumgarner (10,900 on FanDuel & 11,200 on DraftKings). Bumgarner is 7-4 on the year with a 3.09 ERA and I think against the San Diego Padres, he is a great option. The Padres got to Bumgarner in their first matchup this season, but he shut them out over 7.1 innings in the second matchup.
The next two options to consider both come at a similar price to Bumgarner and they are David Price(10,700 on FanDuel & 11,600 on DraftKings) and Zach Greinke(10,500 on FanDuel & DraftKings). Price will face the Cleveland Indians, the same Indians lineup he pitched a CG SO against just 11 days ago. Greinke gets the Cubbies. I think either of these are solid options if you want to play a strong second pitcher on DraftKings; however I like Bumgarner better than both.
For those of you who are looking for a slightly cheaper arm to splurge on bats, consider Carlos Martinez (9,500 on FanDuel and 8,300 on DraftKings). Martinez is 7-3 on the year with a 2.80 ERA and has a decent (not great) matchup against Miami. Martinez has lowered his ERA from 4.73 over his last 6 starts, allowing just 4 ER over his last 40.1 IP.
On Tuesday night there are several GREAT matchups for hitters. The first one being the Arizona Diamondbacks. For starters, they are playing in the high altitude of Coors Field, which always helps out hitters. But even more importantly, they are facing starting pitcher Kyle Kendrick, who is 2-9 on the year with a 5.95 ERA. Get as many Diamondback bats in your lineup as you can.
The next great matchup of the night is the New York Yankees and their left handed batters facing the Philadelphia Phillies Sean O'Sullivan , who is 1-5 on the year with a 4.79 ERA and struggles against left handed batters. Lefties hit .330 off O'Sullivan and have hit 7 home runs.
The next good hitter matchup is the Seattle Mariners left handed batters as they face Jeremy Guthrie, who is 5-4 on the season with a 5.55 ERA and struggles against lefties, with them hitting .325 off him. He is not a strikeout pitcher.
The last matchup I recommend at the plate on the night are Philadelphia Phillies right handers against CC Sabathia, who is struggling this season and is 3-7 with a 5.31 ERA.
With all of that being said my favorite matchup on the night is the Diamonbacks versus Kendrick and I would stack that matchup.
