2015 Fantasy Football - Wide Receiver Rankings

Antonio Brown, Julio Jones, Dez Bryant and Demaryius Thomas will most likely be gone by the end of the 1st round of your fantasy football drafts.  Notice your brain going..."wait a minute, something/someone is missing here!"  Calvin Johnson is no longer the top dog at WR in fantasy football.  If you drafted Megatron last year with your 1st round pick, you probably had a tough time competing.  My advice to you is only select Brown or Bryant if you have one of the last two picks and can follow up with a low end RB1.  Whatever you do, please do not double up on WR to start your draft!

Jordy Nelson (151) was one of 4 receivers with 150+ targets, joining Thomas (184), Brown (181) and Jones (163).  He will be available in the 2nd round if you want to take a RB to start and is a quality WR1.  The same can be said for Alshon Jeffery who had 145 targets in 2014 playing alongside Brandon Marshall, who is now with the Jets.  A.J. Green will also be a very valuable WR1 option that can be had in the 2nd round.

Emmanuel Sanders (101) was one of 4 receivers with 100+ receptions, alongside his teammate Thomas (111).  Brown led the league with 129 receptions and Jones caught 104 passes.

Dez Bryant led the NFL with 16 receiving TDs, and 10 others found themselves with double digit receiving TDs.  Brown and Nelson scored 13 times, Odell Beckham Jr., Mike Evans and Randall Cobb scored 12 TDs, Torrey Smith and Thomas caught 11 touchdowns and Mike Wallace, Jeremy Maclin and Jeffery each hit 10.

OBJ and Evans will look to avoid the sophomore slump, while Wallace and Maclin join new teams.  Evans will have to work things out with rookie QB and #1 overall draft pick Jameis Winston, while Wallace joins a Vikings team with Teddy Bridgewater at QB, who will be looking to avoid his own set backs.  Maclin goes from Chip Kelly's offense back to the comforts of Andy Reid, but will have to learn to play with Alex Smith, in a scheme that produced zero WR TDs in 2014.

DeAndre Hopkins is going to have to prove himself worthy again in 2015, trying to duplicate a 76 rec 1210 yds and 6 touchdowns without Andre Johnson lined up on the opposite side of the field.  Not that his QBs were so great last year, but he will also have Brian Hoyer throwing him the football.  That combination of things doesn't excite me, but the talent level is so high that he is worth the risk.

According to Fantasy Football Calculator ADP, by the end of the 2nd round, 10 wide receivers will be off the board.  Are you going to double up on RBs and hold off on a WR? RB/WR split? Gronk over WR?
