Who Would You Rather Have - DeAndre Hopkins or Brandon Marshall

Fantasy Football WR DeAndre Hopkins Brandon Marshall
Last season, in our 14 team .5 PPR fantasy football league, there were 12 WRs that put up 150 fantasy points. That group was of course led by Antonio Brown (239.45), Dez Bryant, Demarius Thomas and Jordy Nelson, who each put up 200+ points. The WR2 grouping featured players that were separated by just 20 points, with a nice mix of young studs and veterans. We should see similar results at the WR position in fantasy football this season, as the position has become the focal point of offenses and owners can find real value in those middle to late rounds.

DeAndre Hopkins finished last season as a top tier WR2, playing alongside Andre Johnson and catching passes from Ryan Fitzpatrick, Ryan Mallett and Case Keenum.

Johnson is now wearing an Indianapolis Colts uniform, leaving Hopkins as the #1 receiver on the Houston Texans roster.

Arian Foster is going to miss much of the first half of the NFL season, leaving Hopkins as the Texans only legitimate offensive weapon.
Defenses will force the Texans to run the football with Alfred Blue, Chris Polk and CO., doubling Hopkins.

Hopkins will see a TON of targets and put up solid numbers, but expect him to be inconsistent.
Hopkins has all the upside of a WR1, and can be selected in the 3rd round, but plays on a terrible offense, that is without its starting RB.

Brandon Marshall has been one of the most consistent WR in fantasy football.  He is coming off a down season, with 61 receptions for just 721 yards but did score 8 TDs.  He missed three games.
This comes after 7 straight 1,000+ receiving yard seasons, including his two years with the Miami Dolphins, catching passes from Chad Henne and Matt Moore.
Well now he gets to be on the receiving end of Ryan Fitzpatrick passes, at least to start the season, as the Jets just lost Geno Smith to a broken jaw and he could miss up to 10 weeks.

Fitzpatrick scored 6 of his 17 touchdowns in Week 13 against the Tennessee Titans, leaving him with 11 TDs in 11 other starts.
The Jets will continue to rely on their defense to provide the offense with good field position, and Fitzpatrick is going to have two great Red Zone options in Marshall and Eric Decker.
