Running Backs Facing the Dolphins, Eagles & Saints

Running Backs Facing the Bengals, Lions & Ravens

Saints lose RB Mark Ingram for the season!

The Detroit Lions running backs have great matchups with the St. Louis Rams, New Orleans Saints and the San Francisco 49ers.  The only problem is that Ameer Abdullah, Theo Riddick and Joique Bell all play.  Deeper leagues can take advantage but in anything 12 teams or smaller, I would only play Riddick in PPR leagues.  Bell has led the team in fantasy points in three of the Lions last five games, but Abdullah leads the team in carries..

T.J. Yeldon has good playoff matchups against the Indianapolis Colts, Atlanta Falcons and New Orleans Saints.  Only problem is that the Jaguars throw the ball 64% of the time, good for 6th in the NFL.  This has led to five straight games of 18 carries or less for Yeldon.  He has failed to gain 65 yards since picking up 115 in Week 7 against the Buffalo Bills.  He has however joined in the pass attack, with at least three catches in the last five games, even adding 79 receiving yards last week.  As an RB2 you can do much worse.

Doug Martin should continue to produce over the next three weeks with matchups against the New Orleans Saints, St. Louis Rams and the Chicago Bears.  He has not been catching passes out of the backfield, but Adrian Peterson is the only other running back in the NFL with 1,000+ rushing yards.  The Saints have allowed over 150 rushing yards per game over their last four contests, the Rams are giving up over 125 yards per game and the Bears are giving up over 100 rush yards per game since Week 9.

Shaun Draughn finally scored a touchdown but the Niners run into some stiff competition the next couple weeks.  After the Cleveland Browns this weekend, Draughn will get the Cincinnati Bengals and Detroit Lions.  The Browns bend, but do not break.  They might allow around 100 rushing yards per game, but they have only seen Jeremy Hill cross the goalline on the ground since Week 7.  Javorius Allen did catch a TD in Week 12.  The Bengals are limited opposing RBs to just 55 rushing yards over the last five weeks and have no surrendered a rushing TD.  Duke Johnson and David Johnson hae caught TDs, which is some Draughn is capable of doing, with 18 receptions int he Niners last three games.  The Lions have allowed just 47 rushing yards per game in their last four after a Week 9 BYE.  Latavius Murray is the only RB to score on them during this time.
