Giants To Forgo The DH, Will Let Madison Bumgarner Hit

Who needs a DH when you have...a pitcher? Apparently the San Francisco Giants will decide to ditch the DH despite playing the Oakland Athletics in an American League park and will have Madison Bumgarner hit for himself.

So far this year Bumgarner is hitting .175 with two home runs and five RBI in just 40 at-bats. That power is no fluke. Over the last two seasons Bumgarner has hit nine homers in 143 at-bats. At that pace Bumgarner would hit roughly 36 home runs in a full season.

Maybe his plea to participate in the Home Run Derby isn't such a joke after all.

Bruce Bochy just better hope that Madison Bumgarner does not have a bad outing, otherwise this plan will backfire and the Giants will be at a disadvantage the entire game.
