Reds Trade Jay Bruce to Mets

The Cincinnati Reds have traded Jay Bruce to the New York Mets. In return, the Mets will send Brandon Nimmo Dilson Herrera and Max Wotell to the Reds.

Bruce has hit 25 HRs and knocked in 80 runs for a Reds team that is 21st in scoring this year.   The Mets are one of just three teams yet to score 400 runs, joining their division rivals - Phillies and Braves.

Bruce will join Yoenis Cespedes (if he can avoid the DL) and Curtis Granderson in the Mets OF and should hit cleanup.  This is a huge upgrade to a Mets offense that is missing David Wright & Lucas Duda.

Neil Walker, James Loney and Wilmer Flores have hit cleanup in the past week.

It was this time last year the Mets deal for Carlos Gomez was called off and they landed Cespedes for Michael Fulmer instead.
