NFL Divisional Round - Packers vs Cowboys - Madden Simulation

What started off as a near flawless opening drive by the Cowboys, ended in disaster. Dallas ran 13 plays and killed a huge chunk of clock, as they worked their way into Packers territory, getting inside the 5 yard line. Green Bay stuffed Ezekiel Elliott twice at the 3, forcing a Dan Bailey field goal, which was blocked! Aaron Rodgers and the Packers offense started at their own 16.

Luck was with the Packers on their drive. Richard Rodgers fumbled out of bounds before Aaron Rodgers was stripped on a scramble run but Green Bay recovered. The Packers long drive ended with a Mason Crosby field goal as the second quarter begins, giving Green Bay a 3-0 lead.

Dak Prescott was a perfect 5-5 to start the game before forcing a pass to tight end Jason Witten, which was picked off by Jake Ryan, setting Green Bay up at their own 45.

The Packers added another field goal, this time a 56 yarder. The drive looked like it was going to be a 3 and out but Rodgers kept it alive with a 12 yard run.

Dallas would add a field goal of their own, thanks to two big pass plays to Dez Bryant and Terrance Williams, both going for 24 yards. This cut Green Bay's lead in half, 6-3, and we would go into the break at that score.

Starting the second half, Green Bay wasted no time as Ty Montgomery took the opening carry 75 yards for the first touchdown of the game. This gave the Packers a 13-3 lead.

The Cowboys responded with a 54 yard Bailey field goal, making it a one possession game once again.

After being held without a catch in the first half, Randall Cobb came alive in the 3rd quarter. Cobb hauled in three receptions for 66 yards, including a 42 touchdown. Rodgers threw a laser over the middle, that Cobb caught and was able to break away from Sean Lee for the score. The touchdown put Green Bay up 20-6.

The third quarter ended with the Cowboys deciding to go for it on 4th and 4 at the Packers 14, down 14. Prescott converted on a 5 yard pass to Brice Butler. The Cowboys would finally score a touchdown when Cole Beasley caught a pass near the pylon.

Cowboys trail 20-13.

Instead of playing conservative with a 7 point lead, Rodgers decided to take another shot downfield to Cobb but was picked off by Byron Jones.

Taking over at their own 33, Dallas needed just 5 plays to tie the game up at 20. Ezekiel Elliott capped off the drive with a 7 yard touchdown run.

Green Bay bounced back to take the lead on a Davante Adams touchdown. Aaron Rodgers was 7-8 on the drive for 62 yards.

With less than 3 minutes left, down 27-20, the Cowboys take over from their own 25.

Facing 4th and 11 with 3 timeouts, Jason Garrett decided to keep his offense on the field, Prescott threw a strike to Jason Witten which would have gotten them a first down, but Clay Matthews was able to make a hit to prevent Witten from holding on.

Green Bay was able to run the clock out, as Ty Montgomery picked up a first down on a toss play on third and 3. Rodgers took a knee to finish the game, as the Packers defeat the Cowboys 27-20 and are headed to the NFC Championship.
