Week 3 Just Enough "Home Runs"

There were two home runs hit this weekend that had just enough to get out. One happened at Wrigley Field in the Cubs/Brewers series and the other at Great American Ballpark with a Cubs pitcher on the mound. Charlie Blackmon hit an inside-the-park home run at Coors Field, facing Johnny Cueto.

Joey Votto off Jake Arrieta (390 ft)

Travis Shaw off Brian Duensing (378 ft)

Arrieta has now been the victim of 3 "just enough"/"lucky" home runs - solo shots to Pirates Francisco Cervelli and Starling Marte on 4/15 and now a 3 run jack to Votto.  That has accounted for 41.6% of his 12 runs allowed.  He also surrendered a solo home run to Eugenio Suarez in the 1st inning against the Reds, making it back to back starts allowing multiple HRs and 5 in his last three games.

Shaw's HR was the 4th JE/L HR at Wrigley Field this season.  Yankee Stadium still leads with 5.

"Just Enough" home run - Means the ball cleared the fence by less than 10 vertical feet, OR that it landed less than one fence height past the fence. These are the ones that barely made it over the fence. - HitTrackerOnline
