ADP & rankings updated 7/25

Last year, I wrote a blog post about completely avoiding the Chicago Bears offense in fantasy football drafts.  Turns out I was right, outside of Jordan Howard in rookie/dynasty drafts.  With Jay Cutler and Alshon Jeffery gone, Mike Glennon under center to begin the year and Jordan Howard the focus of the offense, are you willing to draft Cameron Meredith, Kevin White, Kendall Wright or Markus Wheaton this summer?

According to FantasyFootballCalcuator ADP, Meredith is a currently an 8th round pick (WR 41) in 12 team PPR leagues while White is going in the 12th (WR 56).  You can grab Meredith around the same time Randall Cobb and John Brown are coming off draft boards.  That is a tough decision to make.  Please draft Cole Beasley, Robert Woods or Sterling Shepard before you even consider picking White!

Currently, experts have Meredith ranked as the 39th best WR, right after DeSean Jackson (Bucs) & Eric Decker (Titans) and ahead of John Brown (Cardinals) & DeVante Parker (Dolphins).

White is actually ranked 14 spots after Meredith at 53 while Wheaton (73) and Wright (83) sneak inside the top 85.

Meredith posted four 100 yard games last year, twice in back to back weeks. In weeks 3 & 4, he totaled 20 catches (27 targets) and gained 243 yards and a TD against the Colts and Titans.  Brian Hoyer was the Bears QB for those two games.

He gained 293 yards and scored twice in the seven games leading up to his next back to back 100 yard games.

He caught 18 passes (25 targets) for 239 yards and a touchdown against the Packers and Redskins.  Matt Barkley was the QB for those two games.

I would absolutely consider drafting Meredith this year as a WR3/FLEX option in the 9th round or later.  There are tons of targets coming Meredith's way, with Jeffery now a member of the Eagles, to add to his team high 97 from last year.

White/Wright/Wheaton on the other hand I am staying away from in drafts, but one of them will have to emerge if the Bears plan on winning more than 3 games in 2017.
