Clippers Trade Chris Paul to Rockets

Not even a week after the 2017 NBA Draft, the Los Angeles Clippers have traded Chris Paul to the Houston Rockets. The Clippers will get Lou Williams, Sam Dekker, Patrick Beverley, Montrezl Harrell and a 2018 first round pick in return.  For whatever reason, I believe the Rockets sent little back to LA that hurts them yet I really like what the Clippers got back for CP3.

It is important to remember that CP3 could have just walked away, but him picking up that player option on his contract allowed this deal to be made.

We could see a similar "sign & trade" deal with Blake Griffin to the Boston Celtics. Should this happen, the Clippers might as well trade DeAndre Jordan as well.

Paul and James Harden on the same team is just insane, on paper.  For fantasy basketball purposes, I would imagine Harden loses a little value, still a top 5 pick, while Paul maintains his current status of top 5 fantasy PG.  Sharing the load offensively should keep them both healthy and rested when the NBA Playoffs return.

Clint Capela will continue to score with great efficiency, while Ryan Anderson, Trevor Ariza and Eric Gordon might see even more wide open 3pt shots, if that is possible.

The loss of Lou Williams "hurts" considering they traded this years first round pick (Tony Bradley) at the deadline this year.  However, J.J. Redick is a free agent and would be a perfect replacement player.

Dekker had a nice rookie/sophomore season once healthy and is the best SF the Clippers has had on their roster since...Corey Maggette?  Dekker had the 8th best eFG% among players 25 and under who attempted 400 FG and 150 3pt last year.  However, he shot just 32% from 3pt.
