Bills Trade WR Sammy Watkins to Rams

The Buffalo Bills have traded WR Sammy Watkins to the Buffalo Bills in exchange for CB E.J. Gaines and a 2018 2nd round pick.  The Bills filled the void by acquring Jordan Matthews ( and a 2018 3rd round pick) from the Philadelphia Eagles in a separate trade, for CB Ronald Darby.

After playing in all 16 games as a rookie, Watkins missed 3 games in is sophomore season and was limited to just 8 games last year.  Buffalo selected him 4th overall in the 2014 NFL Draft and were going to have to decided whether or not to sign him to a contract as his rookie deal expires after this year.  Now that is LA's problem.

The Bills weren't set up to win the AFC East anytime soon, especially with Tom Brady still around.  They now have two 1st, 2nd & 3rd round picks in next years draft.

His fantasy value takes a pretty big hit going from Tyrod Taylor to Jared Goff and the Rams offense.  He was being drafted right around Keenan Allen and Alshon Jeffery at the end of the third round but I would imagine he falls outside the top 20 WRs once redraft leagues draft in late August.  That would put him at the end of the fourth round with Golden Tate, Jarvis Landry and Michael Crabtree.  I would prefer all three of those WRs and their current situations.

Watkins joins Goff, Todd Gurley, Robert Woods (again) and Tavon Austin in the Rams offense.

Jordan Matthews value sees a slight increase, joining newly signed Anquan Boldin and Zay Jones on the Bills receiver depth chart.  Matthews was an 11th round pick behind Alshon Jeffery and Torrey Smith in Philly, but should climb up two or 3 rounds and join the Marvin Jones' and Adam Thielen's of the fantasy world.

Nelson Agholor gets bumped up to where Matthews was being selected, but don't forget the name Mack Hollins .
