Texas Rangers Position Battles

The Texas Rangers did not make any splashy offseason moves like the Angels (Ian Kinsler, Shohei Ohtani), Astros (Gerrit Cole) & Mariners (Dee Gordon) but they did add depth to their starting rotation, adding Matt Moore, Mike Minor and Doug Fister, behind Cole Hamels and Martin Perez.  The offense could easily finish top 10 in runs scored again, with guys like Adrian Beltre, Joey Gallo, Nomar Mazara and Elvis Andrus, so in order for them to build on last years 78 wins, their pitching will need to improve.

The Rangers starters owned the 3rd worst xFIP (5.00) in the MLB last year and the bullpen was the 2nd worst at 4.71.

FanGraphs currently projects the Rangers to finish 80-82, fourth in the AL West
