DraftKingsOur projections suggest that you pair Red Sox Chris Sale (@ Rays) and Royals Danny Duffy (vs White Sox). However, if you want to fade Sale in GPP, with Duffy & Dylan Bundy (vs Twins) as your #2 SP, you can afford to pay up for Mike Trout, Carlos Correa, Giancarlo Stanton and Gary Sanchez!
If Danny Duffy is not your cup of tea, you can start Sale and Aaron Nola (@ Braves), but you would then have to roll with the likes of Lucas Duda, Curtis Granderson and Matt Joyce in your lineup.
Justin Verlander is a safe start, but at $11.6k (@ Rangers), his value is limited, despite projected to hit at least 20 points.
Even at $8.5k, Chris Archer vs Red Sox is not a matchup that we suggest targeting.
If you decide to not spend more than $10k on a pitcher, we suggest Nola has to be one of your two pitchers. Pair him with Duffy, Bundy or Garrett Richards (@ A's). With Nola & Richards, you can still afford two $5k hitters.
FanDuelChris Sale is also the pitcher to own on FanDuel. If you decide to play him, you can still stack the Astros lineup (George Springer, Carlos Correa, Alex Bregman) against Rangers opening day starter, Cole Hamels.
Thanks to FD extending their main slate to include the West Coast games, Corey Kluber (@ Mariners) is an option. That being said, he is a couple hundred dollars more expensive than Sale, but that Astros stack is still available to you.
Clayton Kershaw ($11.7k vs Giants) is the most expensive player on Opening Day. With Kershaw selected, the Curtis Granderson's and Matt Joyce's of the world, crack your lineup.
For those wanting to save on pitching, Danny Duffy allows you to stack the Astros AND insert Mike Trout into your lineup! Garrett Richards also allows you that flexibility.
James Shields anyone? With a road start against the Kansas City Royals (minus Lorenzo Cain, Eric Hosmer and Salvador Perez ) you can have Stanton, Trout and an Astros stack in your lineup!
