The draft started on Monday, June 4th, at 10:43 am EST and SLOWLY made its way to the end of round 2 by Friday, June 8th, at 7:06 p.m. EST.  35 of the picks made were at one point traded - in a league this large there is always a trade to be made!  This included the 1st overall pick which was dealt during last years draft.
The Mighty Ducks promptly renamed their squad - 2 Firsts for McNichols - after ownership changed hands.
The roster was a real mess going in, with no QB, no first round picks for 2 years, and no depth or talent to be found. Lots and lots of trades got me to 1.16, where Josh Allen was the only remaining QB of the top talent. No choice, needed QB, got one
I traded my 1st round pick (22nd overall - Broncos WR, Courtland Sutton) along with Adam Thielen and Joe Flacco to acquire Jimmy Garrapolo and Chargers LB Jatavis Brown.  LB was one of my weakest position despite having Myles Jack and Jimmy G is a HUGE upgrade over Joe Flacco.  My WR corp is not great but I was willing to move Thielen to upgrade QB and pick up a sleeper at the LB position in 2018.

I also moved my 2.22 pick to add a safety, acquiring Tavon Wilson (Lions).  The 54th overall pick was used to select Titans LB, Harold Landry.

Franchise Owners Breakdown Their Own Draft Picks/Trades:

1.10 - Rashaad Penny, RB SEA
I spent a good bit of the offseason trying like hell to move up the draft board but 1.10 was as high as I could get. Entering this season with LeVeon Bell, LeSean McCoy, LeGarrette Blount and Marshawn Lynch on my RB depth chart, it was clear that I needed to address the position in this year's rookie draft.  I was thrilled to see Rashaad Penny fall to me at 1.10.  I'm not sold on him as a long-term solution but having him as my RB3 behind Bell and McCoy has a very nice ring to it! (I shipped Lynch and Blount for IDP options I desperately needed).

1.13 - Josh Rosen, QB ARI
I was recommended to jump into this league by an owner here that I also play with in another league. I purposely took on the orphan team with the worst roster as I love a challenge and am happy to build the roster over time. Also, being an Aussie, I love beating Yanks at their own game!

I had pick 1.13 and was hopeful that Lamar Jackson would fall to me, (my only QB when I took over was Tyrod Taylor who, as we know, is no guarantee to be the starter in Cleveland for long), but he was gone by 1.13. I took Josh Rosen over Sam Darnold as the only two 1st round QBs from the draft left.

My only active RB on the roster was Ezekiel Elliot, so I utilized pick 1.32, I had gained from last year’s winner as part payment for Brandin Cooks in an earlier trade, and gave that pick away for Jay Ajayi, who I hope will stand up as Philly's bell cow this season.

1.22 - Courtland Sutton, WR DEN
For as old as my RB corps is, my WR's aren't much better. I was able to move Jimmy G in exchange for Thielen and a first round draft pick before the draft so he can lead the way as my WR1 for this season, although I'm not entirely sold on him in that role. Some had him as the WR1 on their draft boards so I may have gotten a steal here if he can establish rapport with Case Keenum. If he doesn't quite breakout this year and I can move him for an older receiver who is producing right now I may do so later on in the season as I attempt another title run.

1.27 - Traded away for Ben Roethlisberger

After selling Jimmy G my most glaring need was QB. I knew going into the draft i'd have to address the position one way or another since Joe Flacco was my only starting QB at that time. Baker Mayfield went right away followed by Lamar Jackson at 1.09 ( i was actually quite happy about this since it landed me Rashaad Penny) I was hoping one of the other rookie passers would fall to me at 1.22 but it just wasn't meant to be. I let it be known that I was shopping the 1.27 and wanted some kind of QB option in return. I had a few offers and Big Ben was the best one. He may only buy me a year or two but I think I might be able to make another run at it this season. Playing the matchups with Flacco and Roethlisberger should prove more than serviceable.

We did have two teams removed the league, but their draft picks were acquired and used.
