MLB Home Run Park Factors

homeRuns19
We are just about 30 games into the 2019 MLB Season and have already seen 1069 home runs hit!

The Milwaukee Brewers, thanks to Christian Yelich (13 of his 14 HRs) and their pitching staff (Corbin Burnes, 8 of 11 HRs allowed), have seen their home park allow the most home runs. The Brew Crew have hit 35 home runs at home, while opposing hitters have hit 29 homers, for a total of 64 home runs. The Brewers have only played 16 home games which means a Milwaukee home game averages four home runs per game!

The Seattle Mariners lead the league in home runs, but have an extra couple of games played.

The Detroit Tigers have hit just 20 home runs, lead by Niko Goodrum, Christin Stewart, Grayson Greiner and Gordon Beckham (3).

The Cleveland Indians, San Francisco Giants, Pittsburgh Pirates and Miami Marlins are the only other teams with less than 30 home runs.

The Cincinnati Reds home park (Great American Ball Park) has seen the least amount of home runs in their games played with just 18 in 13 games. They have hit 13 of them while their pitching staff has allowed just five. Believe it or not, the Reds have surrendered the least amount of HRs in the MLB, 21. Anthony DeSclafani has allowed five of them himself while Tyler Mahle has given up four.

The Baltimore Orioles pitching staff has surrendered a league worst 73 home runs, including 23 to the Minnesota Twins in just six games! The St. Louis Cardinals and Mariners pitching staffs are the only other teams that have allowed 50+ homers.

Angel Stadium of Anaheim, home of the Los Angeles Angels, leads the MLB in HR Park Factors at 2.115, while Wrigley Field (Chicago Cubs) is the most pitcher friendly park at 0.529.
